Don't throw away that shirt with underarms stains! If your shirt is discolored from armpit stains or left with residue, we have 5 ways to help you remove it.
1. Get a good quality detergent and some white ammonia. Mix half and half and pour onto the stain, letting it sit for about 5 minutes. After letting it sit use a soft toothbrush and gently scrub the area, then wash.
2. Mix laundry soap and vinegar (60/40) together and spread over the stains. Let this mixture sit for about 10 minutes before washing.
3. Another method is to make your own soaking solution using water and table salt. You will need 4 TBS of salt to one quart of water. Soak the garment in this overnight for best results before washing.
4. For white shirts you can use hydrogen peroxide. Pour straight hydrogen peroxide over the stained area and let it sit one hour before washing. Only use this method on whites because hydrogen peroxide can bleach colored fabrics.
5. Last tip is to make a laundry soap and rubbing alcohol solution (70/40). Use this mix to massage into the stain and let it sit for 1 hour before washing for best results.
